A romantic glamping wedding at Talula Mesa Glamping Resort is perfect for couples near Austin who want a small wedding in a rustic and spectacular natural setting in the Texas Hill Country.

Fancy saying "I do" surrounded by wildflowers, bluebonnets, or the tall grass in the Texas Hill Country? An intimate glamping wedding might be a perfect fit. This isn't just any glamping; it's the most gorgeous, unique glamping in the Texas hill country, located near Austin. In fact, it's so photogenic and design-forward that it made the covers of two Austin magazines and was featured in Austin Monthly.

While the glamping tents themselves are swoon-worthy, you'll be equally as impressed with the mind-blowing setting, high up on a mesa overlooking Lake Travis and miles and miles of wide-open hill country. Talula Mesa Glamping Resort sits on a million-dollar property above Lake Travis about halfway between Lago Vista, TX and Marble Falls. (It's the only glamping in Texas we've found with a lake view). Even when the lake is low, the sweeping views over the hill country are timeless and breathtaking. Each glamping tent is perched on the hillside facing Lake Travis and Spicewood, TX.
Talula Mesa Glamping boasts the very best views in the hill country over Lake Travis.
Everywhere you go on the sprawling 15 acres of Talula Mesa's glamping property, you'll be greeted with dazzling views due to the property's terraced design. When you first pull off the road onto Talula Mesa's drive, you'll pass through large stone pillars and onto several flat acres shaded by lush live oak trees. Four glamping tents are spread out in a semi-circle, all on the edge of the hillside that drops off to reveal jaw-dropping views over Lake Travis, Marble Falls, and Spicewood, TX. From there the property descends in terraces reminiscent of the Italian countryside, down towards the lake, culminating in a dry creek at the bottom of a ravine. Along the way is an open meadow, often full of wildflowers and tall grass in the spring and fall.

Several picturesque nooks are scattered over the property, perfect for saying vows.
It's difficult to choose from the beautiful spots tucked across Talula Mesa, including a wide-open point overlooking the lake and the hill country. If you prefer a more intimate setting for your ceremony, saying your vows next to a waterfall fountain or a natural spring below a fig vine-covered rock wall covered might be exactly what you're looking for. Or chose one of the live oak groves for your vows; another option is to set up chairs in the remote, meadow-like field.

Host a romantic dinner under the stars.
Many couples host a small dinner or brunch for their guests in one of the live oak groves or along the terraced land just down the hill from the glamping tent, which overlooks Lake Travis and Marble Falls, Texas. Caterers and food trucks are allowed and encouraged. Some guests have partnered with one of the local picnic companies to wow their friends and families with a laid-back, fancy, yet intimate feast on blankets, pillows, and low tables filled with champagne, wine, cake, and a variety of delicious fare. This kind of on-theme meal is perfect for a glamping wedding and will certainly make your special day unforgettable.

When is the best season for a glamping wedding at Talula Mesa Glamping Resort?
For reliably nice weather I suggest a spring or fall wedding, meaning late February, March, April, or early May; or October, November or even early December. One giant advantage of a spring glamping wedding is the fields of bluebonnets and other wildflowers abundant at Talula Mesa Glamping Resort and nearby. To learn more we created a post all about wildflowers and glamping. Generally the daytime temperatures are too hot in June, July, August, and September for you and your guests to spend extended time outdoors in fancy clothing. Those months are great for paddleboarding or spending time at the lake down the street, hopping in one of our plunge pools or cowboy pool, morning hikes, and generally hanging out outdoors in casual clothing, but sweating in a fancy suit or dress isn't as fun.
