10 Things That Make Talula Mesa Glamping Resort Special

Updated: Oct 8

What makes Talula Mesa Glamping Resort stand out? So many things. You've stumbled onto a truly remarkable gem. Don't take our word for it, check out the reviews, too.

1.  Gorgeous Design

The. Most. Gorgeous. Glamping. Hands. Down. The “tents” at Talula Mesa Glamping Resort are one-of-a-kind, custom-built. You won’t find anything else like them, anywhere. One guest described them as “a boho architectural masterpiece” and they were right. The tents, which are a blend of a cabin and a tent, boast unique, design-forward vibes. It’s almost like being in Talum, but in glamping tent in the hill country. Each tent is handmade, given a 15-foot special hand-painted emblem by the owner, not a kit or off-the-shelf pod. Where else will you find a hand-painted canvas tent? High-end furniture, handwoven hammocks, ultra-comfortable mattresses, lux metal French Presses with wooden handles, woven Turkish rugs and towels, and soft Aztec linens, round out the look and feel. If interior design and lux vibes excite you, Talula Mesa Glamping Resort is the getaway for you.

2.  Unrivaled Views Over the Hill Country

Talula Mesa is nestled high on a hill (a mesa) with stunning views over Lake Travis and the hill country. Each tent faces a large expanse. From most points on the property, views extend for twenty miles across Lake Travis over Spicewood into Dripping Springs.

3.  Privacy

While some glamping resorts pack tents or pods next to each other, Talula Mesa Glamping Resort left plenty of room between each one, generally around 100 feet from tent to tent. That means guests get a lot more privacy than you’ll find elsewhere. Talk about a private getaway.

4.  Lake Access and Lake Views

Lake Travis, aka the Lower Colorado River, can be accessed just two minutes down the road at Turkey Bend Recreation Area. Guests are invited to borrow our paddleboards and kayaks, free of charge, and head to the lake any time you’d like. There are several great glamping spots in Texas, but few that overlook the lake.

5.  Quiet, Undiscovered Pocket of Marble Falls

You’ll marvel at how quiet and undiscovered this little pocket of Lake Travis is. It’s unbelievable. But shhhh... don't let the word get out.

6.  Activities

There’s so much to do around here. Check out our Activities page for a long list, and seasonal guides to make your trip planning easy (fall is the only guide we've created so far. More to come). You’ll find:

This is the ultimate yoga experience: perched high over the hill country, with views for miles all around as you practice your flow. You’ll feel like you’re on the edge of the world, drawing energy and inspiration from the hills below.

8.  Hospitality and Service

Guest reviews speak for themselves, and most reviews mention the friendly, proactive, responsive owner. You won’t find a corporate entity or faceless property manager here. The owner and staff will directly take care of you. The owner built Talula Mesa Glamping Resort as a true labor of love, pouring her soul into these hills to share the hill country charm with her guests.

9.  Family-friendly Glamping

We love families! Kids love glamping. Many glamping resorts don’t allow kids, but we love them. Glamping is a wonderful digital detox for the whole family. There’s nothing better than watching your children play outdoors or share a campfire with them. You’ll find lots of kid-friendly activities on our Things-To-Do page, including rides, farms, safari animals, a children’s museum, and more.

10.  Dog-friendly Glamping

Bring your fur baby glamping with you! Dogs that are well-behaved and kept on a leash, of course. We adore dogs and all fur babies and will provide a water bowl, extra sheets, and doggy poop bags for dogs joining the glamping adventure. Get more info about our dog policies on our FAQ page.
